How long to MMO?

I'm trying to bring compression back up on one of my motors with MMO. How long do I leave it in for? I suspect low comp on this motor(sticking seals) because it barely holds idle. I have my dells idle screw, screwed in all the way it barely gets 1000rpm. Anyways I put the MMO in this morning through the plug holes and have turned the motor over by hand quite a few times already.

Thanks, Ed

A couple of days at least. It takes time for the detergents to soften the carbon.

If you have that kind of luxury, sure, longer the better. Absolute minimum is a weekend or your wasting your time.

I lauhg when I see people saying things like "I put some MMO in and then started it up"... that is how you unflood an engine quickly, but as far as carbon removal it does nothing. (Although it's probably good for ridding your backyard of mosquitoes)

Months. Actually, it was closer to a year. Carbon chunks were 'floated' out because I used a lot of MMO. It went in red and came out dark red to black.

As for decarbonizing, I use snake oil. It seems to work the best.

Would that Snake oil be fresh squeezed or store bought? And, does it matter what type of snakes you use? LOL.
