build a motor that will go to 15-18k and put a straight exhaust on it, and i gaurantee you it'll whine... oh, and will it.

I don't know if it's like an indy car lol... but my RB system / Dellorto sounds freaking haunting at WOT in 4th gear, bouncing off the concrete walls of the highway at 3am... totally different from the fart-canners.

Mmmmmmmm exhaust wine. The hydrocarbons and nitrogen gas give it a rich and full bodied taste.

I prefer white wine, personally.

My Racing Beat Dual long primary exhaust sounds PERFECT.

I am a big fan of loud exhaust, and i even like the fart cannon style. But the RB full exhaust system is just unbeatable!! The sound is nice and loud, but the absolute opposite of ricey. VERY hard to describe.

Racing Bleat mini-presilencer into a stock muffler is pretty whiny, without sounding like a "fart can".

The closest I ever heard my car sound to an Indy car (if it ever can) was my 2nd gen with a Pacesetter header, no cat, and 2 Brullen straight through mufflers. Sounded beautiful! I would describe it as 'sonorous' although it was pretty loud. I just can't get my GSL-SE to sound that way though and I wish I could.

Ha, I was only kidding about the exhaust wine thing. I saw the subject and decided to check out the post to make sure it was only a typo.

By legal standards, I'm not old enough to drink, and I'm not a brewer myself =X

lol Nitrogen gas is mixed in with some porter and stout beers to give a rich and full bodied head to the beer. Your statement sounded good from a beer drinking point of view!

I always thought the wine was from the straight cut gearbox and not the exhaust

mine is like that, loud though, all you need is a hack saw. cut off the exhaust before the first cat. then if you have $20 you can take the part of the pipe that Y's it into 2 pipes, weld it on, throw on two elbo's and run the exhaust out in front of the tires. wicked whine, but also wicked loud. the indys sound a lot quieter in the stands than they do from 2 foot. oh yeah, if you follow this plan, you also shoot fireballs a little more frequent. and its a little easier to do it on command

I hear a whine like that all the time at around 8,500 rpm. My turbo is screaming!
