How do you determine if your thermostat is still good?
I know it's only a $30 part, and just because I'm a cheap bastard.
My car is stock for the most part with a straight pipe.

the string being so you can take it out and watch it close again. Should be around 180*F, and to be honest i have no idea where water boils in F.
Know your cheap as are we all but i will say, if in doubt you should just change it because its an integral part of our cars cooling system
