How in da hell do I unseize my rear calipers?

Angry How in da hell do I unseize my rear calipers?

Man it sux *** when u are drivin down Mcleod and ur car is smokin from the rear wheels cause the brakes seized on u.... took it to the nearest shop... cheezy apollo muffler - they said get new calipers - $120 each PLUS install... fugg em.. Is there any trick i can do to save my setup... high heat grease??

calipers are one thing you don't want to screw around with.

You can try disassembling them and soaking them in CLP (break-free with teflon, used by military types to clean weapons), then reassembling them, but with all the itty bitty parts, etc. it may be less aggrivating and give you better piece of mind to just buy new ones

what is CLP? like CLR?? i dunno, my uncle will help, so i think it is worth it.. depends, when i get more 'info i wil weigh my options

Go and buy a rebuild kit... Should only be about $25/side and do the calipers yourself

CLP is some super strong **** we use on military aircraft when 2 parts have merged into one through the corrossion prosses of oxidation, commonly know as RUST. You can unstick bearings, nuts and bolts, clean parts with it, etc. Its like if WD-40 was a firecracker, CLP would be an atomic bomb.

I had a piston freeze in the rear caliper. Couldn't remove piston.Even when soaked with fluid, it wouldn't budge. I had to use a KD piston tool I use to push pistons in. I used it to remove the piston....A lot of work and aggrevation. Easier picking up rebuilt calipers.

where could i get rebuilt calipers? or a rebuild kit? I just got a job at canadian tire... so in a week I should be able to find anything...

Here ya go: Rear Caliper Rebuild Kits (does 2 calipers) and it's less than 30 bucks.

where do you get the clp? im a big fan of wd-40, almost a junky, where can i get this stuff.
wd-40 is the gateway grease lol
