not sure if this is right...someone correct me if i'm wrong...but to find out the condition of your apex seals you'll want to run a compression test...

A compression test will tell the overall condition of the car, One indication of low compression is hard starting and low power.

The Apex seals dont really give an indication, They just break and that is it, Not like a piston engine where you get oil blowby.

yea dude compression test will be the best method just search for compression test. its gonna be tricky since well the kits you get after for piston engines. Basically what you do is crank engine with button in and watch the pulses. there will be 3 different pulses per rotor. If all seem to be even then i wouldn't worry.

What makes you think your apex seals are going bad?

So a compression test will tell me if I need new tires? lol

A "gallup" or vibration is a not a good sign. Your engine may run motion side to side on idle or vibrate w/ acceleration.
Been there, done that.

Uhhh ohhh....
Mine seems to vibrate at idle....I thought it was just the rotary engine but maybe not...
Sometimes it vibrates enough to jiggle the mirror a tad...

Nah, there are many other reasons for a rough idle other than low compression.

yeap, Good Compression means the tires will be Bald and need replaced soon. Low Compression means they have good tread and will not need replaced until the new BridgePort has been installed.

Everybody seems to have overlooked this one, but how about taking off the exhaust manifold and getting a flashlight and mirror and LOOKING at them?

If you rotate the engine with a wrench (clockwise ONLY, when viewing from the FRONT of the engine), you can get each of the apex seals to line up with the exhaust port. Simple matter to stick your finger in there and feel for free spring travel. Granted, it won't show you side damage to the corner seals, but you can get an idea if they're trashed.

Give that a shot and let us know.

I had an engine vibration along with 'single-rotor' operation and it turned out to be a combination of fuel injector pigtail connectivity at the wiring harness, plus a sticking apex seal. Some ATF later, it's back to 110% (compared to before!). HTH,

Hmmm my engine at idle runs smooth mostly, but randomly hiccups... not a constant thing... its like brbrbrbrb-skip-brbbr-skip-brbrbbrbbrbrb-skip-brbrbbrbrbrbrbbrbr... since its not constant im guessing its not apex seals? Some have said my 1000cc primary injectors would make idling rough... would this be the cause perhaps?

Mine does pretty much the same thing, I wouldn't say it's a skip though...It just sounds a little different...
