How can I raise my ride height???
My 85 GSL, like most, rides very low. Is there any reletively simple mods or adjustment to bring it up off the ground a ways? I was going to try it at a RallyX later in the month, as it seemingly would be a great rally car. The only complaint it the low ride height... Thanks in advance.

Well, um, thats not what im trying to do at all actually. Thanks anyway though, my attention span is equally short during SNL, or Late Night w/ Conan which is on in a half hour....... What im trying to do is bring the entire car off the ground a bit, so it can be driven on rougher terrain. Not all out baja, but just enough so I dont have to avoid 4" ruts.

That seems to be the popular picture to post recenly lol.
OK, well then lets see... hmmmmmm...... RAISING the car....
Well, this is probably the most unsafe thing to do in the world, but in the back, you could probably fabricate a metal rign to go around the upper spring perch, to space it out. This would give you more clearance. Dont know about the front tho.... sorry...

somet hing MORE unsafe? I actually tried this to compress the springs:
Use vice grips to lower the car!!
Oh wait, we are raising the car. HM.
Lets see:
GOT IT. Take out the Spring. At its full extension height, gte a metal tube to match the same inside diameter.
Replace the spring with the metal tube.
This will cause your car to NEVER bottom out (or always, depending on how you look at it), and you will never have to worry about clearance again. GOod luck getting the pipe on there.
Again, DONT DO THIS!
Sorry, we should probably refrain from the hi-jacking of this thread....

hmm why not goto a junkyard and grab the spring form another 7 or any car for that matter and pull out all your spring and double them up, duct tape them all together in paris and sitkc them back in

I mean you would probably have to run, jump, and dive into the engine bay to work on it.
the engine must be a couple foot down before you even hit the carb.

Just a useless racing fact.
The guys in NASCAR used to shove rocks in their springs to make their car pass tech inspection. Then as they raced and the springs compressed and rebounded, the rocks fell out and their car got lower, making their Cd smaller and their car FASTER! =)
But for keeping your car up? I have no clue! Sorry =P

I read your email
This thing would be extremely cool if it actually had a rotary engine in it. What are the chances?
