Question How to break the steering lock

Fellow 7's

I bought a motor and tranny off a guy in an Ebay auction. The only problem is the motor and tranny are still in his car(which does not run). This car was his parts car. After trying to figure out a good time for us to meet to take it out, we determined that I would just take the whole car home and take the motor and tranny out myself when I get time. Well I go to pick up the car and he tells me that hes lost the key and the steering wheel is locked. We had to get the car into the trailer with a forklift. The only problem is, I dont have a forklift at my house. Anyways, to make a long story short, the car is stuck at my house and I can't get it into the garage because of my driveway setup. The guy told me to go ahead and break the lock because hes does not care about it anymore anyways. Does anyone know how to break it so I can steer the car?

You should be able to remove the steering wheel and get at the lock that way to somehow disengage it. I don't know how to do that, but you should be able to do something if you remove the steering wheel.

Remove the entire ignition lock!!..remove the steering wheel surround panel, then chisel out the bolt that holds the lock assembly. If you need more room, remove the bolts that holds the steering shaft.

or just remove the key cylinder, there's a small set screw on the under side, loosen this screw and the cylinder will pull out then turn that piece inside there with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Like said before, just turn the wheel as hard as possible, it'll break.
