How bad is bad

I just removes my clutch and found some marks from the worn clutch on the pressure plate and fly wheel. Im wondering if it is worth it to resurface the pressure plate? If I can feel the grooves in the flywheel and pressure plate are they completly shot? Thank you

Resurface...Trust me, if you dont your clutch will burn out faster and youll be kicking yourself later. A bit more work now is the way to go.

Since you already have dropped the tranny, you should DEFINATELY turn the flywheel. You are going to have to do it eventually anyway especially if you see worn marks on it. I would also replace the pressure plate since the disk and plate will usually be cheaper if you buy them as a set(some will actually come with the throwout bearing as well)

i agree. resurfacing the flywheel would be the best in to long run, or if the tolerance won't allow a resurfacing then replacement/upgrading will be a worthy investment. I have only bought 2 clutches for previous vehicles but i got the kit with disc, pp, and bearing. It is usually cheaper in the bundle too

In my experience, a flywheel will have to be pretty rough (grooved, etc.) to make much of a difference. If there are just some "marks" on it, but it is still pretty much smooth, then I personally would just run with it...

If you have grooves or burn marks, surface it, toss the pp and get a new one, they are not worth surfacing.
