ahhh! sparks in the engine bay

I just finished rebuilding my carb, doing a little engine bay clean up and just finished charging up the old optima. I went to start it and sparks shot up from the drivers side inner fender wall, what appeared to be from the ignition coils or something in that general vicinity. I must have not wired it back up correctly after everything was taken out and reinstalled. Can someone tell me the correct way to wire this up. The car hasnt run for about 6 months and I really wanna try and get it going today. Heres a picture of the coils:

thanks for any help in advance,
Tim.

Check your ground cable. I was getting sparks off the drivers side fender where the intermediate line connects before going to the engine block...check that first, and re-check all your wiring against a diagram, if you need one let me know, I can email it to you.

Have you checked for loose wires, and then tried it again?

I see that you have your rats nest removed, are any of those soleniod clips close to any thing?

Im just throwing Ideas out.

You might have just had some residual water on the coil wiring or the fusible links area. Glad its working now though...

Make sure your pos post is in the rear, if you have it in the front, it can short to the hood hinge. I have one sitting here waiting to be fixed. He melted his battery cables together. Replaced those those and now he's back because eveytine he puts it in reverese, he blows a fuse and it shuts down. Don't know what else he burnt up yet.

And get that battery tied down!! I see way too many that aren't.
