Hot starting problems

I have an 83 RX-7 with a 12a. The car sat for 2 and a half years before I bought it. Well the car starts fine cold but on a warm day or when the engine is warm the car just will not start without starting fluid. It also wont hold idle unless you hold down the throttle or pull on the choke. The carb is getting rebuilt soon and I'm hoping that will fix it.

Probably will; sounds like it's being leaned out by plugged fuel passages.

I know the accelerator pump is plugged up and I wouldn't be surprised if others are clogged. Are the kits from Black Dragon any good? If not what would you guys recommend? I looked for the Hygrade online but couldn't find any.

Save the shipping from BD and order a kit from AutoZone. That's one of the good ones.

Yeah, the GP Sorensen that comes from Autozone was superior to the BD kit, in my opinion. I ordered both, and was much happier with the content of the Sorensen kit.

Yeah I work at AAP and our kit was 40 dollars. So I called Autozone to verify the price and then had my manager price match it. And yes every Advance will do this. I should get it in two days, until then..... courage.

The GP Sorenson kit is 96-462.SKU number at Advance is #15110178.
I liked the kit from NAPA auto parts better.I bought both.
Whatever location/price fits you ,I guess.
Good luck !
