The hood I was talking about.

I am was very excited about this hood, and I got it put on yesterday.

And yes, you can get a hood to fit in the back of a FB.

And now it goes in for paint.

What? It's okay, just as long as it's functional.

Yeah, for the product placement Dr. Pepper sent 5 hole dollars!

I thought I would get a more positive reaction on it. But oh well, to each is own right? I'll try getting some pics tomorrow, and like I said, it should be going in for paint next week.

Oh yeah, and Dr. Pepper sent me this awesome sticker for my car. j/k.

Please excuse my bad arrow pointing job.

but my point is, like putting a sail into the wind on a sailt boat, it is going to turn you.

I suggest centering it.

steps 1-4 of what will happen.

You really think that little scoop will pull the car? I've seen numerous people with bad headlight motors and they've got one headlight up and one down...

Older cars had only the driver's side view mirror.

I doubt that'd affect steering much.

I think weight distribution (IE travelling without a passenger) would affect the pull more.

Please tell me you aren't serious.

Do you realize that the FC with its off-center scoop didn't have problems. Or that this scoop came off a early model 300ZX which was mounted off to a side too, it also had no problems.

Now, if you excuse me, I have to go move all of my CD's over to the pasenger side of my car to even out the weight distribution. lol

if its functional its fine. Maybe its just because the project isn't finished yet but I'm not diggin it at this time. To me, it looks like the scoop is just sitting on top of the hood with double side tape holding it there.

Yes, I am serious. Your going to have air bouncing all over the place, the way you have the hood scoop anywase.

You really didnt think that one through

I mean , seriously dude, your putting out a speed brake to make it go to the right.

a cessna 152,
55 knots (63 miles/hour, 100 km/hour

TAKEoffspeed.

You need to go to an aviation school sometime, because you will learn, it doesent take much to make a plane go sideways.

And driving at 75mph, it doesent take much, to make a car go to the side

that is rediculous...

there is no way a little scoop like that will pull the car at all. sticking your hand out the window would do way more.
Im sure its important in cessna 152 when youre going about 125 mph, but it will do nothing to affect the handling of a car.

btw - i agree that the scoop should be layed in a bit more. try smoothing out where the hood and scoop meet with some bondo or something. Youll be glad once you see it painted.

You dont have to worry about weight transfer, you have all 4 wheels on the ground the whole time.

The tiny scoop, can make a tiny car go sideways.

Why doesn't a Formula 3 or similar get effected by this then? They have the Air intake sticking out the side behind the driver

I'm with the majority on here. That scoop isn't going to effect the car enough to make it matter; however, I can see it doing something but it would be at a speed of which would be far far far too unsafe for any SA/FB. And as far as airplanes go, I am not sure what planes you are talking about, but don't most travel faster than a couple hundred miles per hour? That would be a speed in which the slightest bit would effect the aerodynamics, but at the speeds a typical SA/FB would travel I don't think the force of air atop of the car would have enough of a damaging effect to make it pull to one side or the other.

And I am not a fan of the way the scoop looks; however, if it is functional like you say it is then more power to you.

And as soon as the headlight is up, it renders this new scoop pretty much ineffectual.

^ first good point made on this thread. Jesus. A little scoop pulling a car to the side lol. Maybe if he was doing 170MPH and let go of the steering wheel. For 10 minutes. It might drift a few inches.
