Just the same as those scoops that replace the headlight lid... Those seem to be fairly popular.

Please excuse my bad arrow pointing job.

but my point is, like putting a sail into the wind on a sailt boat, it is going to turn you.

I suggest centering it.

steps 1-4 of what will happen.

Just compenaste with a little tail rudder, no?

And as far as airplanes go, I am not sure what planes you are talking about, but don't most travel faster than a couple hundred miles per hour? That would be a speed in which the slightest bit would effect the aerodynamics, but at the speeds a typical SA/FB would travel I don't think the force of air atop of the car would have enough of a damaging effect to make it pull to one side or the other.

And I am not a fan of the way the scoop looks; however, if it is functional like you say it is then more power to you.

A cessna 152 can fly at 70-100mph for cruising speed.

all he needs is a little trim lol

I guess airplanes and cars are different in the way I forgot.

wheels verses weight.

On a plane the center of gravity is most crucial.

in a car, well, its throw an engine in there and its on 4 wheels.

Dam, all those years my mom yelled at me for putting my hand out the window. Now I know why, it was pulling the car to the side!

how much difference in power are u noticing with this? (if uve drivin it. )

^ Yes it is a 300ZX hood scoop, tomorrow I promise I'll post pics to prove it's functional.

And on the note of a Cesna needing only 62 mph to take off, do you realize that a Cesna has wings the size of banquet tables on each side. My hood scoop is the equivalent of a plastic bag or a dog's head being out the side of the car.

I wonder if people with dogs experiance more car crashes because of drifting out of their lane. Since I have driven the car since I put the hood on just take my word it doesn't pull to a side.

now you're seeing the light, just don't go trying to fly your 7..why just the other day I attempted to force my moonroof all the way up to induce an elevator effect while on the freeway...didn't take off tho..so many other factors to work out still

I do know that the air inside of the car creates the same effect as in a the back of a truck.

It bounces over it.

As for power, not much, maybe I am imagining things but it seems like it helps. A slightly different noise at WOT and highway cruising, and easier to get up my hill in 5th gear.

You really didnt think that one through

I mean , seriously dude, your putting out a speed brake to make it go to the right.

a cessna 152,
55 knots (63 miles/hour, 100 km/hour

TAKEoffspeed.

You need to go to an aviation school sometime, because you will learn, it doesent take much to make a plane go sideways.

And driving at 75mph, it doesent take much, to make a car go to the side
You are so full of crap. Have you, yourself ever flown an airplane or learned ANYTHING about aerodynamics?

First of all, a scoop that size bolted to one side of the cessna 152 you think you know so much about MIGHT cause it to yaw SLIGHTLY due to the added drag on one side, but even then it wouldnt be that noticeable, unless it is WAY out on the wingtip or something. You should also know that a cessna 152 weighs less than that car, (cessna 152= about 1100 lbs) and is suspended in a fluid medium, unlike the heavier car that is stuck to the ground with FOUR RUBBER TIRES.
I have opened the door of a 172 in flight and guess what: It didnt do jack **** to the airplane. Oh and the door is quite a bit larger than that hood scoop by the way.

Please quit insulting everyones intelligence here.

this thread... funny stuff. seriously a tiny scoop isnt gonna throw your car off center, nor will it do much for function, because like saud when the lights are up, the scoop is rendered useless

good point, almost everyone in my family can fly and own planes... ive never seen anything of the sort happen, nor would i expect anything to happen by something as small and low profile as a small scoop

Sorry but I come from years and years of posting on gaming and bs forums where if someone spouts something gawdawful we would automatically look to photoshop an image to mock them... well I snapped and went right for it.

OMG LOL.

(My $.02: I'd like to see it molded down into the hood a little better, less of a seam/ gap- other than that, looks pretty dang cool.)

Nicolas P., I am glad you started laughing with us on this one. Because spouting off flight school, aerodynamic principals, etc. loses ground with you when your permanent signature, which is always there, has a gross grammar error in it. "I love my engine more then anything." THAN ANYTHING, lol. sorry just a bad memory of english 101 from college.

Cheers,
Travis

Dude, IT WILL MAKE YOUR CAR GO ALL OVER THE ROAD!!!!!!!

Remeber what happened when your g/f ducked her head into your lap, and the car started to swerve? This proves there is a ration and scientific explanition for it.
