put your head in a coffee can, and put the assembly up against a running ceiling fan on high.

this is what your car will sound like with stock manifold and pipes.

but it goes fast!!

I always thought that a broom handle shoved in there would do the trick?

One hell of a broom handle

I have never had any luck knocking out a cat. Always had to cut'm open.
Test pipes are less than $20 on eBay.
Good luck.
Right now I'm puting a cat BACK in my exhaust

I have an Irwin 3/8" wood auger bit, the 18" long one. Chuck it in a drill and drill as many holes as you can in the honeycomb, the take a crowbar or steel pipe and break up the rest of the core. I have never had to cut one open to gut it.

To improve flow and quiet it down a little, insert a piece of exhaust pipe, with holes drilled in it, the full length of the cat. Tack weld at the ends so it doesn't rattle.

hey vin what do you mean test pipes?? actually if anyone one knows... also would it be worth it to just shell out the money for a cat replacement pipe, or better just to gut the cat?

Cat replacement pipe and test pipe are the same thing, except the the latter is legal, the other is not. Yes, it is better to replace with a straight pipe, you get much better flow.

Yeap, The big main cat can not be done with out cutting it. There is a metal plate that keeps you from reaching the honeycomb. the smaller cats can be done like everyone says.
