Holley pump mounting

Okay, my pump died, finally got in my new holley blue. Now the only question i have is where can you find the adapters so you can hook it up to your fuel lines. Napa didn't have them.

Lowe's or equivalent home improvement/hardware store. Look in the pipe fittings section and bring the pump along to test fit the adapters (more than likely 3/8" NPT).

My Holly Blue came with fittings that went directly to rubber fuel lines. I cut off the threaded fitting that were of the car and slid rubber lines over them. It seems to work well.

Hey, when you get you Blue going, don't be surprised if it is loud. I mean really loud.

Oh, and make sure that you mount it vertically with the wires down. They will fail if you mount them upside down.

I have mine at about 45 degress and i dont have any problems. Do think i will start to experience problems or is 45 allright? I mean i have driven it some but not much and havent had probs. Ya they are loud. they kinda suck cus they are a 14psi pump and i run an ida and only want like 5 psi. So if i dont have the motor running and moving fuel it just builds up to 14 psi no matter what i set my regulater at.

Rotortuner, have you tried running a return line? It's pretty strange that the pressure's building up like that.

No i havent. It would be a real pain, cus i ran brand new bent AL -6 lin from my tank on up to the reg. and then it goes -6 stainless braided lin to my 48 IDA. but ya if the fuel isent moving then it jsut builds up. mabe i just have a crappy reg. but when the car is running then it works.??? its weird but the reason i dont like it is cus ida's dont like 12psi. I ran the new line cus i dident want to have to deal with any restrictions in the fuel system. this is on my pp12a so i do needs good supply. Any ways ya the info is appreciated if you know how i could remedy it.

Yeah, maybe it's a faulty regulator. Must be pain in the *** trying to get it started.

I'm actually running a 48 IDA as well and I definately prefer running a return line. Fuel pressure is a lot more stable whereas before it used to fluctuate under different conditions.

The Holly Blue has an alternative spring kit that you can install which will drop the pressure to about 8 psi., that might help some.

Ya interesting. You think that could realy affect my starting? hhhmmm mabe its flooding??? hehee i guess so. i never realy thought too much about it, i have had starting problems and i always have to comppression start it, mabe this is one of my problems. Another problem is i am having trouble getting it to crank fast enough and i think that most of my prob. I had a starter rebuilt, new pos. and neg. cables. and its still not quite fast enough so i guess its time to invest into a realy good battery like an optima or something similar, then hopefully it will turn it fast enough to get good compression. Also mabe i am flooding and i think my idle jet is way to large. what size idle jets do you use rev head?

65's. It's a 12A extend-port. Not sure what you'd use on a PP though.

On a side note, does your Weber have extended float bowls? If not do you have any problems with fuel surge when cornering on low fuel? Reason I ask is because I'll be going to a large bridge soon and a few people have said the float bowl mod is a must.
