Holley EFI or FiTech on 12A

Have anyone ever used either a Holley or FiTech EFI on a stock 12A? If so, what is needed to have engine run? Is it possible to use one that is self learning? Any draw backs to using this kind of system? Just looking into different fuel delivery options for myself for my car. Any and all helps, Thanks!

This guy tried a FiTech on a 6 port. It doesn't play with a rotary very well.

If your running stock keep the nikki, been proven thousands of times its one of the best fuel solutions for a 12a

+1 on keeping the stock carb if you have it now. I suspect you feel more comfortable with EFI of some kind but the rotary is not a piston engine and the fuel requirements are different and most EFI setups (unless is the GSL-SE one) will not run a rotary correctly without a lot of work tuning it. Get out of your comfort zone and get the carb working right and you won't be disappointed and it won't cost much either. Plus theres lots of us old farts than can help too!

Sadly I bought the car without the stock set up. It currently has a Racing Beat Holley 4160 on it. It does alright with the car, just has some disadvantages to it.

I don't favor one over the other. My daily is a carb-ed 1986 C10. I have no problems with that. I prefer it actually. My problem is I have a bunch of aftermarket things on my car from when I bought it. It currently runs a Racing Beat Holley. I don't hate it but on turns it seems to have fuel cut. I want to figure out what is the best course of action before spending money where it doesn't need to go. I am not opposed to the stock nikki, I just sadly don't have one or the manifold to go with it.

Those EFI devices look like they would work great with Megasquirt or something.

Unfortunately they never seem to want to sell the throttle bodies a la carte.

The holly cutting out on turns is quite normal on these cars the way the float bowls are set, and theres not much you can do about it. There have been a couple tries with the FiTech and its never ran correctly with the 12a, can't see the holly EFI being any different. keep your eyes open for a stock intake and a Nikkie for sale, and follow Jeff20b and T_G for modifying it and making yourself an extremely fun car

If you are dead set on going efi, I've done all the needed background research. Looking into building my own fuel manifold now to convert. I too have a Holley... I had a case of mental vomit the other day onto a thread here trying to sort out everything in one spot. Let me know if you decide against the Nikki.

This guy claims his Holley Sniper 550-511k is working well.

Maybe message him for details/proof (there are no driving videos yet...)

Megasquirt has come LONG way here. It's going to be VERY hard to get anything better than MS for the price.

Have you thought of a Haltech or even Microtech?

hi, in my theead that someone linked at the beginning I posted a video where I explain my fitech experience after 2 years if you are interested. In the meantime they made the two barrel version which in my opinion should be perfect for the 12A.

That guy seemed to get a good setup working well, using the ECU to activate the secondaries.

But you're drifting, not really driving hard.
