Hogged Nikki or Holley 465?
I have my fuel system set up to do intake upgrades but I don't know whether to hog out my Nikki or get a 465cfm Holley. I'm trying to build a well balanced car between sporty and streetable on a reasonable budget. I have a stock port s3 12A under the hood, emissions deleted, holley red fuel pump w/ pressure reg, RE headers and presilencer, stock ignition system. I understand hogging the Nikki out would be much more economical, I even have access to a small lathe that can probably fit the venturies. However, slapping on a built Holley would be easier, and any defects wouldn't be on me. Which one does the community think would be better for my build?

Except the holley doesn't work well in anything but a straight line without a lot of extra mods
that RB doesn't include with their 465.
May as well waste the same time doing the hogged nnikki and save a butt load of cash and have
a carb that corners and doesn't bog out.

Yeah, cause i dont like my car??? come on guys... thats your preference... a well tuned Holley will make more power than a Nikki and there simple to work on and parts are available just about anywhere. My car corners fine, no more bogging than a nikki. I have been playing with rotaries for nearly 30 years and i have blew the doors off many hogged Nikki carbed cars with my old junk Holley..... just saying

Rick Engman runs a Holley on his personal street driven rx3.... enough said in my book. Racing beat sells Holley's every day, i dont see them selling modifyied Nikki's. See a pattern here??

Modify the Nikki... If you screw something up you can always fall back on a holley.
I personally didn't like my edlebrock. Sucked fuel fast and leaned out on hard cornering. But for strait line driving and cold starts the eddy was good enough for a dd. Not saying the Nikki doesn't fire up just fine.
