Not much into top speed, prefer the feeling of acceleration.

Only had the 7 up to 80mph, but haven't even taken it into 4th gear yet. Only drive it around here in the industrial park tuning it and working out some of the small bugs, it isn't even liscenced yet.

120 in my gsl, and 120 in my gsl-se on perfect flat highway, after getting a 100mph head start down a hill. the gsl-se started cooking coolant mid-run, so i think i could have got it higher.

both cars were pretty floaty feeling.

Got up to 95 last night before I let off the gas, BOY does not having an air dam in the front make such a big differnece in these cars.

I was in my seat scared because my thunderbird was solid to the ground at 105 lol

I hit 95-100 mph every day going to work and while not rock solid, it's very stable, even with shot bushings.

Dan:
I simply meant exactly what you are saying. If you check our my link, you will see my 7 that I have poured my heart & soul into. It was stock when I purchased it & I did the engine work & all other extras. I'm damn proud of my 7. The Ferrari is a dream come true but never to be compared to my 7, or V8 240Z, or SC Miata for that matter.
BTW: my 328 Ferrari was just over 50k, will do 160, & is not considered a "super car" like an F40 or Enzo. While the performance is not "all that" the engine note at 6k rpms is!

150 on I-10 headed towards dallas just past el paso, in my 87 TII, was trying to get a corvette to play hehe.... but then he passed me at 150 like i was sitting still, definately the best "race" i've had... in my 88 TII i've gotten to 140, and let me tell you, at 17 psi in 4th gear it got to 140 way faster than my stock boost 87 TII got there... in my FB? 60 lol, i got on the highway once when it actually ran with that 12A in it... atkins should be done building my 6 port motor for it now, so, it should be back on the road soon

Took mine up to 100 today on my way to work for the first time since swapping the tranny and installing a new clutch...

Before the swap at 80mph to about 85mph the car would vibrate...once past that range the car would smooth out though...now, the car went all the way up to 100mph with no vibrations at all...felt like i was floating at that point so I let off

135 on I90 on the way here and that was pretty much maxed. Too light to go faster. Sad because my roommates GS-R is smooth as glass at 140, mostly stock.

I drove Rex4Life's Turbo II powered GSL-SE up to about 125 before he said that's good enough. LOL. It felt like at least 140 left in it.
About 120 in my 7's, topped out.

I'm guessing I've done about 110 at about 5.5k in 5th gear. I shut it down at that point, not because there were cops (no cars besides my brother's truck, which I was somewhat racing ['85 Scottsdale with 33" Timberline M/Ts and 350 swap, so not much racing on his part ]), but because my car's inner tie-rod ends are pretty much shot. That thing floats like hell when braking at a high speed, either to enter a turn, or when slowing down from 90 or faster.

Either way, it was still a blast since the only time I've been that fast was in my parents Passat, which topped out at 130 before the governor kicked in. And my brother was driving it then.

125MPH In my 100% Stock SA22C. It started to shake a little around 120MPH. That was absolute FASTEST it would go. 8000RPM in 4th Gear. Shifting to 5th lost speed because its an overdrive gear. I had tons of road and it wouldn't give me any more, and that was with one other occupant.

I hit 130 in my 90 N/A GXL. It was still pulling nicely, but I let off because the car that was pacing me couldn't keep up. The car was rock solid at that speed.

It all depends on the attitudes of the cop and you. Once in one of my Supercoupes I had a cop chase me for about 5 miles on a Houston Freeway and didn't even know he was trying to catch me, honestly. I was working through traffic about 100 to 135. I eventually slowed down because I caught up to another cop and had to to exit anyways. When he found me he was plenty pissed. I just answered him calmly and honestly without being an ***. He asked me how fast I was going, I told him I really wasn't sure because I had to pay attention to traffic and couldn't watch the speedometer at those speeds, probably up to 135 at times. We talked about why the car was so fast, really souped up, could probably hit 165. Why I was driving that fast, just doing the wrong thing at the wrong time when somebody in a truck pissed me off trying to race and almost wrecking me. Eventually he wrote me a ticket for 30 MPH over the limit (95 MPH) so I could take defensive driving and told me never to do it again or it would be much worse and let me go on.

A friend of mine got locked up for one night just for a minor accedental tire sqeak pulling out of a gas station in a full race 5.0 in that same part of town. He was respectable too, so it all depends on the cops.

Just because it didn't happen to you dosen't mean everyone who had it different is full of B.S.
