is this on the 12a...?that would be very impressive. i personally dont like going over a 100mph...but i have gotten my car to 130 and the wind was knocking it all over the road so i let off.

I've gotten to around 135 in my old 85 gsl-se, but I have only gotten up to around 95 in my 85 gs so far...to scared of tickets here in cali. And I really need an airdam.

shm21284 I hope you are using a rather large wing, front and rear. I saw a video of a 7 flipping over backwards going something like 200 mph. Be carefull doing that ****. AND BRING US LOTS OF VIDS!!!!!!!

Have really gone for a true topend run yet,but the speedo has gone to 100mph.

This was done to do a fuel flow test, and it was in 3rd gear.

I`am all for acceleration, and not so much topend.

I'm sure my 7 & would have gone another 20 mph faster but I was unsure if my license covered airspace. It got scary light at 120mph. I hear side moldings help.

BTW: I think the Ferrari would be solid at 160 or so. Sweet!.

i saw that video of the rx7 flipping over on its top speed run. I will do a helluva lot of research before doing the 200 mph thing. If i add a big wing, or even a wing at all, i will need a lot more power.

And yes, its on the 12a that i plan on doing it. there will be tons of videos. dont count on it for a year, though.

Hey, 140 ain't that fast. In a solid high performance car, it's in a trip to the 7-11. But for the 7 w/ stock hp at 95, it's everything.

Snapshot your making us all look bad with your very expensive sports cars =( course a car worth 100 000 with go faster than a 2000 dollar car with 95 hp... Just what different people can afford and what kinda cars they like... I would never be able to afford insurance or a ferrari in the first place so most of us can only dream and in the mean time modify are 7's =)

Well the insurance cost is actually not much different, but for less than the cost of a tune-up on the Ferrari you could double the 95 hp of the RX-7. As to which car is "faster," refer to the IMSA results for 1979-1985 you will find the RX-7s typically beat the Ferraris in every race.

The RX-7 is a solid high performance sports car and quite capable of travel at those speeds as many can attest. Aerodynamic devices help and as with any car it needs to be well-maintained with good tyres, suspension, etc. With worn suspensions and steering the nose will get very light and drift resulting in permanent damage to the car (i.e. crash).

Its just a 328, dan. You can pick those up for fairly cheap. My dad almost got one for 18K. And that thing will do 140? I thought those were kinda slow, but Ive never driven or rode in one, so I dont really know.
