high idle problems

high idle problems

I have a massive problem with the idle of my new engine it idles at 1200k and wont go down i unplugged the orange SV and plugged in the green one now it stops surging it would run then idle down and go pop about 2-3 times then idle back up I thank you for your help

its a carbd 12a bridge port well thats what the guy said i only bought it for 200 plus the wrecked body rebuilt 3,000 mi ago it sat for 2 years though

If it is a bridge port it is going to idle high.

12a? carbed? high idle? I'd check the anti-afterburn hose if I were you. It's goes from the intake manifold down near the exhaust manifold. It usually gets burned up down by the exhaust and can cause serious idle problems. Good luck!

yeh but it idles at 1200 to 1500 now i dicked around with it now it will start idle @ 800-850 then go to 1500 I just swapped thisengine which is an s1 there used to be an s2 in the car some of the rats nest things dont match but ill check that hose doesnt it go to the cat

If the motor is really a bridge port, it won't idle, period. 1200 rpm is the best it will ever do. All that aside, if you're using the s2 carb/intake manifold on the s1 engine, you'll have problems because there are passages that won't line up.

no i have the s1 manifoldand carb on the same engine,the fricken thing now surges down and pops like a ****.it pisses me off cuz i try drivin then i just dies
