free flowing exhaust, and a new intake should get you there.. if not, go direct fire and through on an electric fan

It all depends!

You could get a Yaw-modified carb and manifold for probably under $500, and a RB long-primary exhaust for $700. Or you could try to do it cheaper and end up spending more money in the long run...

The trick is, you're not going to get much more than 150hp from a stock port. That'll get you low 15's. Since you'd be maxed out as far as engine goes, to go quicker you'll need to yank weight out. Also, how good of a driver are you?

with a stockport 12a you are definatly limited.. i think peejays' estimate of 150 or so sounds about right.

That's a number I got from Paul Yaw's site... a very informative site and a must-read for anyone who is interesting in modifying rotaries.

well, if 150 is max for stock port, what is max for the other ports, and at what RPM?

Depends on the port! A big street port can easily make peak power above 9000, meaning you can't have stock apex seals. I think the highest verified power output from a street port is 217 or 227hp. That's flywheel. I don't know how long that engine would last, though...

cool, for me, it all depends on what my compresion test comes out with.... if apex seals are bad, then i'll be porting my engine, if they are good, looks like my car is gonna stay stock for a while.
