hi, oil filter on rx7 '81

Hi friends,
here in italy the mazda say me that is correct to mount on my rx7 a little oilfilter, i have buy a NIPPARTS Micro Nippon Filter ( J1313016 T8307) , but i am not sure that is correct, why my rx7 originally have a very bigger oil filter.

It will work good also with a little oil filter?

Can somebody give me the name and code of the originale oil filter?

thanks.

The small Mazda filter is universal on most Mazda's so it should be fine ... if they are Mazda Dealer surely they should supply you with a genuine filter and not a NIPPARTS one ??

hope this helps, you can see the Mazda oil filter in this shot

Mazda have redesinged the filters a few years ago and made them smaller but they still work just as well as the big ones they USED to sell

If it helps the filter here is exactly the same one as fitted to my 1991 Mazda 323

Yeah, I got a shock when I took my SA to the dealership for an oil change and some other service and they put this dinky little blue oil filer on there. I guess alot of Mazda vehicles have the same oil filter now.

ah .. thanks.. ok i will write you what kind of ************ technical mazda staff here in italy is:

some months ago i had to do a check-up at this car that stay in a garage for several years (black paint and engine check-up) , i give the car to a car-workshop in Milan (Italy), and they done all theyr works in 4 months bypass the turbocompressor (because they don't know how it works...in the Rx-7 it works at contrary respect the others turbocharged cars).
They do output the turbo entry putting a little pipe that do the function of drainageto that output .
so i had to reassemble all.
I have dissasembled all, and rebuild the connection of che compressor to the entry of engine (its thise the reason that i would the other side pics of your engine =).
So the only thinks that they do correct is the repaint in black , and the installation of a Clarion Sound System with Cd Charger.
... i have payed... 9.000 DOLLARS. (((

uhm thise is my site from the last summer : http://rx7.baudnet.com

when i have time i do much pics to my car and upload the new photo with repainted it

bye thanks!
