Heres a good one........

I just received my new carb and intake from rotaryshack. Very nice sidedraft blowthrough steup with a nice carb hat. I bolted the setup to the block and noticed that the opening on the carb hat for the IC piping is right in the path of the oil fill neck. Now this does create a small problem and was wondering if any of you guys have ever ran into this and what you did. The only thing i can think of is to either remove the neck(which i still havent figured out how to do or if you can even do it) or just cut it down. Please let me know what to do in this situation.
Thanks again,
Old Tex

The oil fill neck can be removed and be modded. The TII oil necks are 2 piece and angle out of the way for the intake. I would contact Robert and ask for his input first.

Most setups going to the drivers side like that, you will have that problem. You will also have to relocate the battery.

The battery is allready moved to the trunk. that i new i would have to do to run the IC piping. But yeah i was thinking about the TII filler neck. Does any body know how to remove the filler neck? does it twist out or is it pressed in? Once i get it out i can modify it easyly my cuting and welding but i dont feel to comfortable cutting and welding with it on the block. metal shavings in the pan would not me good.
Thanks again.

The filler neck is pressed in. Some come out easy, others are problematic.

Ok thanks. Thats what i needed to know. This weekend i will reek havick on it and try to get it out. lol. Anybody have any tips on geting this filler neck out. I tried a little to twist it this past weekend and it seems pretty damn tight. Also i noticed that there is a screw on the block that seems like it might be some kinda set screw for the filler neck does have anything to do with it or not? The screw is on the firewall side of the filler neck on the block right below where the filler neck is pressed in.
Thanks again.

If there is a set screw in there, it's not oem.

You need a strap wrench, or if you dont mind some gouges,a pair of vise-grips will grab the tube.
It takes a bit of twisting to get it loose, but once you get it to budge, they will pull right out.....like trocoid said, some are easy and others will fight you.
If you need to shorten it a little, cut the neck down a bit and join the two ends with a section of rubber hose,or weld them back together. Its not like its a high pressure or high temp piece of plumbing after all.Thats what I did to make my TII filler neck clear my IC piping.
