help1

I am looking into buying a 1984 Rx-7 GSL with headers.
Is there anything that I should look out for, like things that would make the car not worth the $1000 that he is asking.

I know that I need to look at the frame to see if it is rusted, and I need to take it to my mechanic before I buy it, but I wanted to know if there are any thing I should look for before I spend any time or money on it.

Under the storage bins behind the seats, look at the wheel wells thats where these cars rust. Also take it to a rotary shop or a mazda dealer might still do it. To have a compression test done. Other than that just drive it and see how it runs and feels.

make sure its not leaking oil , look where it reads mazda12a , beloe the oil filler neck, if it is do not buy!the only way to fix that oil leak is to rebuild the motor! any other iol leak is fixable. p/s i wouldnt be too picky, its only 1,000!

13b = GSL-SE.....or is this a GSL with the SE motor?

Anyhow, I have a TINY bit of oil that leaks near the 12a on my car. It is such a slight leak, if I clean it up, than drive for about a week....it takes that long before I get any oil down there.

It is a recent rebuild.....what does that mean....crimped gasket or something?
