Exclamation HELP! Quick!

Last night, I stopped at a gas station to get something to drink, and when I came back out and started the car...something was wrong. The engine idles at 3500 RPM, and no matter what my father and I do, we can't find the problem. When he does something behind the carb, the RPM's drop to 1200, but the engine idles really rough and sounds like crap. Anyone know what is wrong? I need a solution fast, I'm supposed to go on a cruise with the RX7 club I am in tomorrow!

Check all your linkage around the secondary throttle shaft. Clean and lube generously, you're binding somewhere in there.

Also check to make sure that any hoses have not come off. Look for the big ones first. Check the brake booster hose, it can cause some big problems.

where's the brake booster hose... is that the hose that tells the carb that you are braking? because my car dies when I brake then gas hard.... I have to wait to get out of the turn, the lightly press the gas for it to not die and start to accelerate.

On the passenger side, the hose coming off of the manifold. It goes into a metal hose that runs all the way across the firewall to the brake booster. The brake booster is right behind the master cylinder.
