On the road again!
Well, everything's back together (new rad, hoses and a coupla belts) and we're back in bizness! Decided to stay with the original fan clutch, after all. I may scour the boneyard for a late model Taurus fan just to have it on hand but I talked to the friend from whom I got the RX a couple of years ago and he said he'd replaced the fan clutch, so I think I'm good to go....It certainly seems to be working OK. One odd thing....When I dropped the oil cooler, the bracket on the left side came loose. Apparently, the rubber "bumper" is glued to the bracket and the glue let go (or had some time ago and I never knew it). I simply drilled through both the top and the bottom and put a small bolt through it and Presto!, all better! Until I get some test miles on, I'll be a bit nervous as to whether I got everything back right but it SEEMS to be OK! Thanks for all the advice and help, guys. A little over $200 for the whole deal (Thanks to Advance Auto Parts!)
