So i bought this car 80' rx7 stock about a month ago except straight exhaust. It has some wiring issues as in the a/c, wipers, and everything work even with the car off. He has a toggle switch wired to the coils in order to start the car, i think it turns on the fuel pump. The battery is dieing and the alternator is fine, replaced battery when i bought the car. I have the haynes manual but its confusing. Thank you in advance.

 

Time for a new harness or rewire! Or a long painstaking going over of the wiring and altering all the problems. Download the FSM and use the wiring diagram as your guide.

 

Ouch. Puzzling out other people's poor wiring workarounds is not a lot of fun. It's educational, though.

 

Sounds like my car. Everything works without the key, except I don't have a toggle switch. Does that have to do with the wiring of the solenoid that allows stuff to be turned on?
