The wire for the op sender is right where that hose is. Big round gold lookin thing. You probably knocked off the connector when you replaced the hose.

It is often referred to as a "bell-shape". There should be a connector at the top of the bell.

Under the oil cooler on the pedestal is a round sending unit with a 'tit' dead center. It faces toward the drivers side quarter panel. That single wire connector in the picture slides and 'snaps' into the tit.

Normally the sender is gold covered, yours is 'crud' covered. Get a rag or some spray degreaser and clean that 'tit' connector and sending unit well. Try to clean the single wire connector too. I'm surprised if you were getting a decent reading (or any reading for that matter) as dirty as that puppy is!

While you're at it you might want to consider switching over to an under-rad oil-to-air oil cooler rather than the oil-to-coolant "beehive" arrangement you currently have. If you go this route, remove the beehive BEFORE the new engine is installed because it's a bitch to get off once placed in the engine bay. Otherwise the swap is easy and straight forward.
