help with nikki electronics

ok, im on the final stretch with my 929-rx4 convertion(this build has been a bitch)

the last thing i need to know before compleetion is:
what do i need to wire upp on the damn nikki to make it work (the electronic idle is allready powered upp)
anything else?`
i have stable idle on the engine now, but i cant get any power before high rews, it just falls flat on its face (which leads me to believe that something more needs power ) help a guy out

PS(picture before and after complete restoration this summer)

Depends on which Nikki you have; there are a number of versions, some more electronic than others.

Run a search for either "naked nikki" or "stripped nikki". There are a couple of very good writeups that have been done which should answer your questions.

Also, check out www.sterlingmetalworks.com for more information.

Good luck.

hmm, ive been thinking of a couple of things (i can only work on my car in the weekends since it is stored at my old foks garage).
i bought my 12a from a retard(i have had to correct lots of STUPID mistakes)
and when i got the engine the throttlelinkageside of the carb was uncompleete/been tampered with.
if the accelerator pump linkage wasnt hooked upp, could that explain why the engine falls flat on its face on low rews( no power)?

I've never heard of electronic idle.. Unless you mean the idle switch. The only electronics you need is the FBVS but this can be removed and the hole plugged.

If the accelerator pump isn't hooked up you will experience bog/stumble when the throttle opens swiftly and be down on power under light throttle.

There was an electronic-mix-controlled carb made my Nikki and used by Mazda in 1983. It used solenoids controlled by the ECU to adjust a/f mixture.

Covered on pages 32-36 of the "Theory and Operation" section of the Mazda Carburetor Repair Manual, 1979-1985.

The book says it was "introduced on two Mazda products in the 1983 model year" but does not say which models.

Also looks like '84 & '85 RX-7 Nikkis included a "Main Air Bleed Control Solenoid Valve" and "Throttle Sensor." Never worked on one of those myself yet.

Interesting. Must only be in the US models as I haven't seen any

Me neither. I've only seen it mentioned in the lit.
