Help me with a turbo 12a

I have A street ported 12a in a 5 letter '85 that I need a turbo for. I have the GSLSE fuel injection on it and no fuel cut soit has fuel for days. not sure if I should put an after market turbo or try to find a stock replacement or a stock turbo rebuild?!?!?!? Any suggestions?

Shoot me a PM with any info on where to find this stuff or some general suggestions.

Thanks Mike!!

The stock fuel injection will NOT cut it with any sort of turbo.

SE engine has 2 680 cc injectors, stock JDM 12AT has 2 860/880 cc injectors, and the SE ecu will be pretty much worthless for boost. Exactly how do you plan on mating a 13B 6-port intake to a 12A 4-port engine? Time for more research.

You'll need a bigger fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, different ecu, bigger injectors, exhaust manifold, oil feed and drain lines, and a bunch of other little things. A stock TII turbo is good for 200-250rwhp, an upgraded TII turbo with a 60-1 compressor on it is good for 300-350rwhp, any more than 400rwhp and you'll want to stud or pin the block to keep from breaking the back plate.

Sorry,

The car runs fine and no driveabilty issues. the fuel is not the problem. I have a bigger fuel pump the ECU Is worked. I have upgraded injectors and everything is fine. I need some direction on where to find a turbo. I had too many miles on the stock one to handle the 10 psi that i was pushing. I am looking for help not SARCASM.

From your post it sounded like you were going to put a turbo on not that you already had one on there.

What have you done exactly to make this work?

For 13B turbo upgrades, your best info source will be the 2nd gen section, or the single turbo section.

Details please on this reworked SE ecu. I'm not aware of anyone who does this, or evenwhat can be done to them.

From what it sounds like, you might be better off going with a TII intake. That gives you 2 more injectors, then perhaps look into running the stock TII ecu and harness, or upgrade to a stand alone, depending on your hp goals.

If you want the stock 12AT turbo rebuilt, you will need to call around to the turbo rebuilders and ask if they can do it. Search the 2nd gen section, there is someone on there that rebuilds the stock TII turbos and also upgrades them. He may know where or may be able to reuild your's.

Trochoid, Jet performance reworks Ecu's but I am skeptical as far as their reprogramming goes. And I'm not even sure the Se could be reworked to handle a Turbo.

See post above in the middle.
