So you have SP 12a. Are you saying it still has the stock carby setup on it with a SP ? Wonder why that would be ? \

I know if I went to the trouble of porting my engine I'd definitely get a better flowing intake/carb setup ? Whats the current carb on there now ?

a nikki will work with larger venturi's. i dunno if that comes with the sterling or not, but for good drivability you cant beat the nikki. a well setup holley will also drive like stock. if your on the highway alot which means you like to "cruise" at one certain speed then i dunno if a weber is for you. they can buck a little and be aggrivating unless you always put a little load on them. well, the bigger ones. the 45 series does that the least.

Okay, what I meant was the Dellorto's were tuned by Racing Beat to accept the OMP lines and jetted diffrently than stock (non- RB modified) Dellorto's. Wacky it's easy to challenge someone when they're clear across the country. I never turn down a race so if ever your on the eastcoast let me know! I'll show you what a Dellorto can do!

I KNOW, I KNOW !!! I ran out of money!! I still got the stock exhaust!!!

Crys a little because he is so pittyful !

Man, So the webers could buck on me at cruising, But they look so cool !!! I really wish I could ride in one that had them so I could get the feel for it, you know.

Ive seen the pics of the sterling carb, it looks so good, I have to control myself

So im leaning towards the sterling or a holley, but i just cant get the weber out of my mind.

I wanna see some pics!!

So you're only argument is that they have OMP fittings and are jetted differently. Which is crap anyway since any off the shelf carb will need tweaking to suit your engines requirements. Weak.

Just got mine back from Robert at Rotary Shack. We did a long list of stuff so it would flow more fuel. I run it on a VERY large sp 12a.

Settle down, I'm not trying to start a flame war. Believe me, I've got absolutely nothing to be jealous about. You're the one that's talking crap and making claims without anything to back up your arguments. If you like those carbs that's fine. Saying they're better because they're supposedly tuned off the shelf is rubbish.

If you do any REAL performance driving (autocross, track days), don't even bother with the holley... even with the center hung float bowls, it will still stumble in high G corners...

I can't even count the number of Webers, Mikuni's, Holleys ive had but its pretty much a fact 48 IDA or 51 will make more power over sidedrafts, although a Mikuni or Dellorto may come close. Back to what $100T2 was asking... "Help me pick the right carb". We could debate this all day, but the questions is What are you trying to do? How much money do you want to spend? How fast do you want to go?

Thats what I have, but my 12a is stock ported. This carb should be able to handle a street port though and rejetting it is pretty easy. The only drawback is getting rebuild kits is sometimes hard because they aren't produced anymore and Racing doesn't support them at all anymore. Look on www.gruntled.com for good advise on jetting and such.
