I think you can get em' in a straight black .. I got the RB headers , sound great, they ship in no time, best guys to deal with, not too expensive ... If not, well Victoria british have a nice black one ... NE hoo, it's up to you really ! I know for a fact RB is good, cuz I got them :P lol

Racing Beat. They use 1/8" thick wall tubing and the flange is beefy. I have one that's 20 years old.

I have a header, but I don't know who makes it. It's deffinitly not a RB. But what could it be, oh and it's not a pacesetter. WHat other brands are there out there.

Monza is pacesetter, right?

Did Rotary Engineering ever produce headers? They made rotary-ready glasspacks, dual carb intakes, drum to disc conversion kits etc.

Fred is the single most knowledgeable person when it comes to RX-7s, but RB headers are, in my opinion, a better deal. Mindtrain makes great headers too (I have a full system installed on my car, sounds SO MUCH BETTER THAN RB - RB sounds like junk I think), but their headers do NOT come painted with heat resistant paint. They send you heat restistant paint with them, but you have to sand the headers and paint them yourself, which I think is retarded. I did NOT paint mine, and they look like they're 40 years old, but they'll never rust through I don't think, they're very thick. I've been thinking about taking them off, sanding them, and getting them ceramic coated, but that will have to wait a little while and is a whole other story in itself.

Anyway, to sum it up, yeah, just buy the damn RB header, but if you want a good sounding exhaust, go with a different muffler/resonator/pre-silencer combo.

yeah rotary engineering did make headers. In fact I have an old catalog of theirs sitting in front of me right now. Does anybody know what happened to them? There is some stuff in the catalog that I really want. I hate my luck. I finally find good stuff, and the company is gone. I will scan the picture of the header in later so that guy can tell if it is the one he has.

Excellent! Could you look through it and see if there is any info on their rotary glasspacks? I have seven used ones of various lengths. Thanks.

Club is no more, as far as I know, until I get my *** in gear. Serena was running it, but she got fed up with people, so I might start something up with a better meeting spot. I'll let everyone know before anything happens.

BTW, no, Fred does not have headers lying around the house, so don't ask him, lol. Someone did however, tell me once that he used a rotor for a pillow, and ceramic coated tarps for bedsheets.

RB is not the best, I believe ISC or something like that is the best. And expensive!

The reason RB is NOT the best is the dont go straight from the engine far enough out before they turn towards the back of the car. Ideal length for the header to go straight out from the engine is 3" then start to turn towards the back of the car!

Anywhere in between your figures, dependant upon other mods such as intake and port-size.

the guys at SDJ motorsports claim that their IT/GT spec headers have the most torque than any other on the market and mazda motorsports also sells it so im guessing it's good and according to what i've read having it come out 3" before turning towards the back is ideal

too freaking expensive...im assuming that the headers will only provide a 1 or 2% gain over the RB header...and that is not crutial....i have a moded carb...no rats nest...polished and ported intake manifold...cold air intake...now i need the header to make the induction and exaust mods comeplete...maybe my friend can make me a copy of the SJD header...who knows....all worth looking into.

does anyone know the atcual figures of increase for a RB header (talking % not atcual numbers)
