Headlights/wiper combo switch

Greetings,
Need some help here. I read through the threads about cleaning/replacing the combination switch but can't seem to get mine off. I'm wondering if there is anything different with my 84se compared to some of the instructions I read which were for older 1st gens. I have the clamp loose on the bottom of combo switch and don't see any reason why it won't come off the column. Any thoughts? Am I missing something?
Thanks!

If I remember correctly there was a plastic clip that snapped into the metal of the steering column tube. Take a quick look for that, you might need to lift the clip up with a flathead to get it to slide off.

Update: got the combo switch off the column. Turns out, I just needed to work it a little more like I had to do with the steering wheel, lol! For anyone trying to do this just remember that all you need to do is loosen the clamp on the bottom.

Thanks!

Do you know the size of the ball bearings? I lost ball bearings from the brake calipers on my bicycle and searched forever until I got a manufacturer to send me a sample production sample for evaluation. I believe what I have is 2mm. I'm pretty sure I still have several. I'll look when i get home tonight.

Sorry, I should have given another update. Yes, the ***** are 4mm. I went to my local hardware store and they had the standard equivalent, which was 3/16". But because it is an iota bigger than the 4mm, there is more of a snap when I push the lever out for high beam and a bit louder as well. I actually need a whole new switch as one of the prongs broke off which kick the turn signal off.
Thanks anyway Hawk1
