Nice, but not any real weight savings is it?

There is a weight savings but when the stock ones weigh say 1lb. and the new ones weigh say .5lb., no, its not that much. I will weigh them and let yall know. I think the advantage will be carbon and being able to have the vent in them.

Great job! Maybe you can make the scoop so that it lines up with a filtered duct on the inside of the headlamp housing that would allow more air into the engine?

There are alum brackets resined on to the back side and drilled to match your car.

The FC lids can only be bought through RX7.COM

In your pictures i don't see any mounting 'tabs' on the lids. Also. how about different shapes for the vent. I understand the shape you've cast is very easy to do,
can't you do something more NACA type.so the 'legs'
of the vent aren't so long.

I probably wont do any other style, from what I have heard from everyone is the NACA is too big looking and this one is more subtle and sleek looking. I just cant do so many diff. ones.

I guess if I have enough interest in one I would do it.

Oh yah, the brackets are not on this one yet......again, this is the first set out of the moulds. As soon as I get brackets on I will get a pic.

Well if you need some help with designing different shapes let me know, I vent lids, but i'm using all metal.
NACA shapes as well. the mounting 'tabs' are gonna present a problem i feel. because the 'glass' won't be very thick there ,

I resin in metal tabs in to the glass lid.....this is very strong. Other mfg. have been doing it for quite some time and have had no problems. The beauty of the metal in the glass is that you can slightly "bend" the tabs if your car is "slightly bent" to make them straight on your car. As for the originals they were produced off of a straight car.

I will let you know if I need some help on other ducts.

Thanks!!

You know,,while your casting these things, why not cast
your own vents, NACA, and others, people will buy just the vent in glass, and they install them where ever they want, different sizes, and shapes. they are really easy
to do. something to think about..
