Header Question

Will the Rotary Works header fit a 85 GSLSE? Link for the header: http://www.rotary-works.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=HDMF

If so anyone running one and have any comments?

Given their current 'reputation' of things fitting horribly despite their consistent assurance that everything is made to be bolted on without issue...I would avoid it, I was originally gonna order one but now I think I'll just save up and go with an RB.

The Rotary Works header is also a lower grade steel, 304, whereas Racing Beat uses 321 for better durability in the intense heat.

Racing Beat uses 11-gauge mild steel for their headers. Their stainless exhaust parts are all 304 as far as I'm aware.

My mistake, it's Defined Autoworks' headers that are 321.

Thanks for all the input. Liked Rotary Works idea of a stainless header at a reasonable price, but don't want to have to deal with fitment issues.

This leads to a second question: What to look for when buying a used header/exhaust?

I am looking at buying a used exhaust system off a guy (RB Street Port header - RB pre-silencer - Straight pipe - Dynomax muffler). The system is a little over 12 years old. Anything in particular I should look for other than making sure it still appears to be solid? Not clear I will be able to hear the car run as he is parting the car out that it is on.

The RB parts will probably all still be good. There stuff is so thick and well made it
really will outlast a few cars lifetimes. The other pieces will be a crap shoot, depends
on how thick a stock was used for the straight pipe and the age of the muffler.
