Have water in your footwell? check this first!

So i have had a problem with water in my foot well for about a year now, living in portland you can imagine how bad that can be. I eventually got tired of it and decided to start testing and eventually found it as leaking somewhere behind the front fender. when i checked i was surprised to find a 9/16 factory hole that leads right into my foot well behind the speaker, no plug in it, went to the hardware store and bought a plastic sheet metal plug and some silicone sealant. NO more problem!. if your mazda is leaking in the footwell check here first!

Passenger side or drivers side? I have the same issue, but the weatherstripping around the door is trashed, which is what I always assumed was the problem.

I actually just found another strange leak spot, where the top door hinge is connected to the body, on mine there appears to be a raised spot in the center of it that looks like a Y turned to the left 90 degrees, and there is actually a fair amount of water that is getting into that and leaking into the area above my speaker, i plan on filling that with silicone too, and will update on more spots if i find them. ill be putting some pictures of what im talking about a bit later.

Picture 1: A picture of the hole (now plugged) i first spoke of from the driver side speaker hole.
Picture 2: A picture of the hole (now plugged) from inside the fender.
Picture 3: The location of the hinge i was referring too that was leaking.
Picture 4: The hinge and the Y shape that was leaking water into my car water was leaking into the higher arm of the Y.

Hope these pictures help someone else, if you need to know more about where they are just let me know and i will describe in more detail.

Interesting... I'll have to check those spaces since mine are completely wide open at the moment. Did you mean that one of the leaks comes from behind the top door hinge? Looks like your drivers upper hinge is aligned just so that maybe water is getting behind it?

the water is leaking into that raised Y section on the door hinge, i can only assume theres an opening in the little spot somewhere that i cant see. and yes im positive its leaking right there, i did extensive tests and mine is without a doubt leaking.
