broken fork?

Just driving around last night and my clutch began to not disengage easily, then I heard a snaping sound. I found out today that the clutch fork broke. I never saw the fork as a weak point, so I was wondering if anyone else had it fail?

Here's some pics for your viewing pleasure:

Well I thought my slave was getting weak, so it was probably cracked then eventually snapped.

Did it only make a crack that one time, or was it a common thing?

My car makes a thump whenever you put on the brakes... I hope nothing like this happens to it!

This is the first time I've had a clutch fork break. I'm just curious if I should get a new one or use my spare, or reinforce my spare somehow.

Wow, that thing really snapped. Seems like one of those things that just breaks sometimes. Freak incident I would assume. Maybe less racing?
