H4 headlight conversion

I'd like to do a H4 headlight conversion using 7" round housings. I'd like to the same bulb that is used in my 2005 Silverado. I know there are better headlights, but I like the ones in my Silverado and they seem to be much better then stock Rx-7. Plus, the H4 buklbs for my truck don't cost that much. Can I use the existing wiring or should I put realys in? I was thinking I could use the factory RX-7 bulb wiring to trigger the relays. Should I get the hosuings on eBay or is there a better place. I'm trying to keep cost down but not cheap out too much. I know Black Dragon sells a relay and headlight kit bit thought I could make my own much cheaper. I was an Electronic Tech in thre Navy so I can handle any of the wiring. Just looking for suggestions or experience. Thanks

Buy or build the wiring harness for the new bulbs. Just buy the Hella E code headlights.

Hella e-code. Nothing else (except maybe cibies)

You can use the stock wiring or add a pair of relays to help take the load off the combination switch.

and blackdragonauto.com sells a pre-wired relay+harness kit for about $30.
Cibies are amazing, tho more $$
http://www.danielsternlighting.com sells Cibies and relay kits too. very good info here...
You will need some sort of relay system if you even consider upping your 55wt bulbs to something more potent (like 100wts)...

Thanks everyone. I live about 40 minutes away from Black Dragon so I might have to make a trip out there to see their headlights and harness.

Just make sure you get the ecode not the dot hellas. It really makes a huge difference.

I have the Hella ecodes with H4 bulbs as well as the Black Dragon upgrade harness and the increased lighting output and light pattern is well worth it.

Went to Black Dragon today and pickup uo their hareness and two headlights. Their harness is an H4 direct fit and not a H4 to 0995/9006 like my 2005 Silverado. I'm giving this setup to my Dad (70 years old) for his 1985 GSL-SE. If it works well I 'll get one for myself.

I was able to buy some headlights off of a 79 rx7 that was being parted out.
I'm wanting to put some H4 headlights in there. What kind of rewiring am I looking at for a 79 rx7 in order for this to work?
Also I'm not real sure what kit I should use either. Is there a kit that has EVERYTHING that I need out there?
If not what do I need?

I have the Hella E-codes on my Maxton and they are amazing. Since noone has mentioned it, I've got the 55Watt (read stock) low beams and 100 Watt high beams and if you are in a rural area, they are another full step up as well. I think I better get a relay before I burn up the stock switch though.
