If there was a valid VIN showing, you could do some research. Or just ask him for it....

SA22C-XXXXXXX is a valid VIN number, it's from the days before the standardized 17 digit VIN. You can't run a carfax report on those old cars.

That looks like a $4k-ish car to the right buyer. I also wouldn't be suprised if it rolled the odo once already.

I'll be the first to run the flag up the pole on this one... ripoff. Good luck to the seller, though.

46k is easily believable, i have seen brand new cars in worse condition less than a few years old. it is all about maintenance and vehicle care of which this car had little of.

of course the guy is insane for asking that much but some people are ignorant and who wouldn't risk a few bucks auctioning their car for an outrageous amount in hopes that there is a fanatic out there? most of us are sane enough to cut through the theatrics as you can buy a book on the rotary engine's history for $10 and buy a used SSA for around $1k or so.

i'd buy it just for that Blaupunkt EQ, that thing is F'ing sick!

he is probably just trying to recoup his losses from trying to smog the thing.

Haha, yea, I was raising the BS flag on the price, mainly. To ease everybody's minds... this gem received 0 bids. Maybe the seller should divide his asking price by 10. ha.
