Gutting muffler?
I have a question on gutting a factory muffler, how would i go about to do this?I first heard a Rx7 with one when I made my 1st trip to Puerto Rico to visit my relatives,This car sounded so NICE
&I was Hooked on Rotarys ever since!(The car was all stock except it had no cats(straight pipe)Bronze clutch,Kelley tires, lowered,
& a Booming Stereo,No header just a exhaust manifold &A gutted factory muffler&it was Clean)this was in '87
Since then I never heard one quite like this(I have had many Rotary cars but I always but headers on them& I never could duplicate the sound.I have a chance to get a 1982 Rx7 GSL that has low miles &I would like to try & Gutt the factory muffler, put a test pipe on to try to "duplicate" the sound I am looking for,Any tips on how to do this?

All i can really suggest is stick a pole in the muffler and beat the insides with a hammer but i doubt they'll come out that way.... or if you have access to a welder, split the side with a die grinder and go about it like that.
