or swap in the 4.30 gear set from the 94-97 Miata.

this is a direct bolt-in deal...

the FC rear gear sets will NOT work.

Gears non-interchangeable.

GTUs was *not* the fastest N/A. FC's are pigs.

2300lb is also a pig.

Funny statement: Some FC fan was saying "damn, not every car can be a Lotus Elise dood, lighten up LOL"

Sad thing is, the Elise weighs *more* than many 70's econoboxes like Capris/Escorts or stuff in that vein.

But anyway...

And early Capris weigh in at about the same (~2000lb), and Escorts were lighter. 2002's were just under 2000lb, too.

Hell, you couldn't make a Lotus Seven weigh as much as an Elise if you fully loaded it with two passengers and as much cargo as it could hold!

Granted, the Elise is 2000lb with such features as airbags, and side impact beams, and the like, while the late 60's/early 70's cars were tin shitboxes with thin cardboard for interior paneling if not nude sheetmetal. But OTOH, you didn't have to worry about explosives in your steering wheel, or plastic interior parts guaranteed to break up after only ten years of service....
