GSL-SE Streetport Exhaust System

Is there anyone running a Racing Beat Streetport Exhaust System on their GSL-SE who can tell me precisely where the exhaust back-pressure sensing tube is mounted on the center section dual presilencers?

Pics would be appreciated too if at all possible

i dont think that there is a back pressure sensing tube on there, there is a tube that back pressure builds up in to open the aux ports if that is what you are talking about. there is also a sensor for if your exhaust is too hot and there is a o2 sensor. if your talking about the aux tube then it is on the presilencer.

Check with stealthman.. he has a GSL-SE with RB and he is in Miami as well...
There is a meeting tomorrow.. maybe someone can show you then or you can get your answer...

You have 2 staggered presilencers. One right and one left. The 6 port actuation tube is on the presilencer that is on the "passenger side" tube. It does not have a 2 bolt flange on it like the stock tube does so you'll need to cut the flange off of the stock pipe and use a fuel line and clamps to connect them. Be ready to replace this fuel line piece every year or so as it can't take the heat for too long. I loved that system. I wish I still had it.

i have a high flow cat, not presilencers, but i have a modified rb sp header from mazdatrix which is plumbed for my six ports and it works better than the stock set up.

This is a quote directly from the page listing the SE streetport system:

"The Long Primary system typically adds 5% or more horsepower over a Short Primary system on a street ported engine, especially at higher RPMs. This system can also be used on non-ported engines with good results. It is strictly bolt-on, with no welding required. These complete “bolt-on” systems come complete with all required mounting hardware and gaskets. Note: There is a back pressure pickup tube included in the center section to allow for the correct operation of the 6-port intake actuators. Since this is intended for racing applications, there is no provision for an oxygen sensor on this system."

If you find the port on the pre-silencer unsatisfactory, I can dig up a link to a thread which shows how I deal with aux port activation on header systems that don't have the provision for the back pressure port.

I appreciate the responses and perhaps more information on my part would be prudent.

I intend to switch from an '85 12A with a RB Streetport Exhaust System and RB modififed Dellorto to an '85 GSL-SE 6-Port with a RB Streetport Exhaust System and RB modified Dellorto. Obviously I will need a new header, but I can use the same center section as long as I install an exhaust back pressure pick-up tube.

Installing everything and measuring to figure out the exact mounting point of the sensing tube is probably my best option. However, if someone has the setup I intend to switch to and can give me the mounting point for the sensing tube I would find it most helpful.

Thats odd. I have a GSL-SE w/ RB long primary. It has an O2 bung as well as an aux port pressure tube which connects right off the front rotor exhaust header - NOT on a pre-silencer. Its a threaded hole right where the header bends about 90 deg to go back. The air comming out of the exhaust port would run right into the aux port hole; if that clears anything up.

I took my header to Mazdatrix and they welded in the required tube to actuate the 5&6 ports.
