Door seals

O.k, I know I'm probably going to get my butt chewed off for threading this. however it's Friday anfernoon and I'm at the office and have been looking for a couple of days for FACTORY correct rubber door seals (85 RX7), I ordered in the past but they seem too small...still too much wind noise. Can any of you guys help out a Canadian still up to his *** in snow.
Cheers,
Paul

I used FC door seals for my RX-3's and FB's. Just trim it in the bottom since FC doors are larger.

I picked up one of the Mazdatrix ones for driver side door of my 84 GSL-SE and it fit perfectly. I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there but I didn't want to skimp on quality.

I went with Black Dragon, they fit tight, had to get used to shutting the door a little harder for a while.

I replaced with the mazdatrix which are the oem units and man what a difference. Pay a little more for these and you will be happy. Also look and replacing the other rubber seals such as the window tracks and the outside rubber that runs along the area where the window goes down into the door.

Also used the OEM seals. We are talking about the _Door_ seals, ie the ones that fit around the frame of the door, right? NOT the window track seals?? Yours were too small/tight? They should (based on OEM) be a bit tight as far as fitting around the door, being new - but this was not a problem in installing mine. I would recommend, however, that you should do the Window Track and Lower edge seals (inner & outer) at the same time, esp if you are looking to make the car quieter. Lots of wind noise thru old dry window frame seals, even with new dr frame seals!!
And if you do the window seals, take the Final Step in wind/sound reduction (for the doors) and add some sound insulation to the door behind the door panel. I used Second Skin, which makes an excellent (IMHO) product. They make a "door kit" but here is a tip: ONLY ORDER ONE DOOR KIT - it will do BOTH RX7 doors. This and ALL new seals did some serious silencing of the doors... 'course now the RSET of the car needs to be treated too....
