gsl-se injectors on turbo II

wanting a little more power out of my turbo II and was contemplating using my old 680 se injectors to replace the current 550's. will this work? i know on an s5 all were high impedence but i'm not sure what the se's are. there's gotta be a thread on this already but i couldn't find it. thanks anybody for any info.

WOW he is just asking for some knowledge guy. this is why I sometimes hate asking questions. because people like you just have to be dicks about it to feel good about themselves.

And to the question, Ih ave heard people using them on their TurboII's including myself, I didnt even bother to check it the impedance was low or high, I installed them and it worked just fine....

More importantly, how are larger injectors going to give you more power? I believe you are running the stock ECU, but I may be wrong.

Make sure you have a way of tuning this or you will just be running rich and probably have less power.

He answered the question, didn't he?

Wrd. Bigger injectors do not necessarily mean more power, it's a complex equation.

Low impedance injectors were used till the middle of the 87 production run. The 2nd gen FAQ section should have a listing describing all the 2nd gen injectors. Moving up to the 680 cc/min injectors will most likely reduce power and reduce chance of detonation. There are come complimentary mods that can make use of the larger injectors, i.e., the R-TEK.

If you think you got flamed here, ask the same question in the 2nd gen section. We're puppies here in comparison.

nothing personal... its just a really basic question. the info for that is all over the place, and its something that's been done for i dunno 25 years?

it should have been really easy to figure out

this is why i always use the first gen section.
hey ya know i searched and didn't find it meh. no harm done in asking.

ps. i have all the supporting mods already planned/in the works i was just hoping to use the se injectors rather than buy some for... $x.

flame this one... how do i convert to low impedence wiring to use these?

I know how you feel. There are always cockholes out there that somehow have no problem spending the time to tell you to search, when they could have just answered the damn question in the same amount of time.

People - if you don't have the time to answer the question - please just don't respond. I think most people know to search, but just have a problem using the right search words. I' too, get frustrated when I search and search, and can't find a straight answer then post a question and get flamed for not searching.

The FC guys aren't that bad - go hang out in the single turbo forum. I won't even read that page anymore since everyone has their Haltec shoved way up their own ***. If they don't like the question - just dont reply. Its pretty easy.

so from what i can tell, high imp injectors are around 12 ohms and low are like 1-3 ohms. can i just wire a small ohm resistor (of the correct resistance after testing them) and call it a day?

Well, if you are going aftermarket ECU to be able to control the injectors, then you should have either all high or all low.

About the resistor, tecnically there is not reason why it would not worked when wired in series. However, you get a resister that is rated correctly for that amount of current (I'm not sure what it is) as the resistance is a function of current. I would be lothe to try it.
