man if I had the money and time for this project I would be all over it. What would be better than a second gen convertable with a tII swap? a first gen convertable with a tII swap!!!!! Take a look, you need vision for this but it could really look nice.

Man, looking at that makes me nervous. Id never want to tackle something like that in that condition. It would either have to be in better shape or not be a convertible....

thats the whole point though. I would love to have a second gen convertable tII but a frist gen would be lighter especialy if it was a convertable.

ps. plus I know people that have tII's I know people that have convertable tII's and I know people that have 1st gen with tII swaps but I don't know anyone with a first gen convertable tII swap. Anyways this is just a dream but if I where rich and on mtv cribs I would restore that bastard and show it on there along with all my other rx7's

Yeah but I bet finding parts for the top would be harder than hell. We know theres probably very few of these cars, and the manufacturer isnt likely to still be in business, or have parts for it if they are. Plus I sure as hell wouldnt want to pay the shipping fees on that thing

That is the roughest 1st gen i have ever seen....Not a good chop job either, the window posts are still attached how GAY is that...If you want a rough convertible 1st gen come get my 81 for free it's rough but it's free- take a sawzall and cut the top off.....end orf story....come get it.

yeah you can't just cut the top off with a sawsaw and expect the thing to handle and not crack in half.

I could be wrong, but aren't convertibles generally heavier than a hardtop simply because of all the reinforcing you have to do to keep the body rigid?
