Got My Order From Summit Racing Today...And A COOL Surprize!!

Well, I got my 10 feet of -10 line, and my AN fittings to make my lines, now Im just waiting on my adapters, crush washers and o rings from MazdaTrix . Anyway, I also asked them to go ahead and throw in one of each of thir catalogs. I got one thick main catalog, one smaller Sport Compact catalog, and one smaller truck catalog. Well, I was browing through the sport compact catalog and what do I find? A two page article about the rotary engine!! Its pretty cool if you ask me. I was just looking at some stuff noticing practically no one makes anything or lists anything for the RX-7 in these catalogs (although I did find and electric water pump for the "Mazda Rotary"), and I turned the page and saw this!! Its a neat article. They make the rotary sound so good compared to the piston engine . The title of the article is "The Rotary Club". The main focus of the article is called "Inside NHRA Sport Compact Rotary Revival". It goes on to talk about some of the key people running rotary engines in the NHRA, Abel Ibarra, Adam Saruwatari, Ari Yallon, Jesus Padilla, etc. They explain the basics of the engine, how it works and stuff. And, for the most part, they sound like they know what theyre talking about too!! They also have a section called "The Rotary Advantage" where they talk about the rotary over the piston and how cool it is and stuff (they list four main reasons, reliability being one of them!!!). Then, the only disadvantages they list are high emissions, and high fuel consumption, which they then point out dont really matter on the drag strip anyway. They just make the rotary look good . I like the article. Its a free catalog from Summit, so go order one off their website and check it out for yourself . I dont have a scanner, but I took a pic with my digi. Theres two 3rd gens (including the RX7.com car), one first gen -SE (lower right corner, almost pulling a wheelie ), and an RX-3 drag car. Anyway, I just thought Id share .

PS - I didnt make this its own post so that I wouldnt get yelled at to go to the lounge . It has to do with my oil cooler lines .

Cool, glad you got your stuff! What angle fitting are you using for the front cover TJ? I used a 45* for mine cause the 90 looked too tight.

And on the summit thing, your behind the times dood!

I bought a 90 for it...I honestly didnt even look under the hood to plan it . Im sure it will work, but a 45 probably would have been better. I ended up with 4 90s. Two for the engine block, and two for the cooler.

As far as the catalog goes, leave it to me to be behind in the news, lol. The link you posted does have more quotes and stuff, but I was too lazy to type some up. Maybe I will if I get bored, or if enough people are interested. Hell, I may even just type the whole damn thing .

Well fear not, as long as you dont use them, you can send them back and exchange them for what you need. I had to do that cause I ordered the wrong ones too first time. Open them up and dummy test fit them to see if they are what you need, then you'll know what you need for sure.

I held it up in place, and I can make it work, but I think that you were correct, a 45 would be perfect. it will head straight to the radiator, and then turn out and around it. I thought about returing it and gettting a 45, but I dont wanna wait on the shipping . Of course, I dont know when my MazdaTrix order is gonna get here, they havent even charged it to the card yet . Anyway, Ill figure something out. I plan on trying to dummy fit some stuff as you said, just to see if I can really use two 90s on the cooler itself, or if Im gonna have to use 45s or anything up there as well. That way, if I need to exchange anything, I can do it all at once .
