Got my first FB today...
Its an '84 GS with just under 55,000 miles. I got it from forum member Vashner (Randy), who is an excellent guy, for $500. The outside's a little rough (some rust spots), but it runs like a top! Has a small coolant leak from the t-stat neck, but should be an easy fix. I'll try to put up pics soon!!!
I do have a question though- is the airpump on a 12A neccessary? I know on my FC it actuated the 5th and 6th ports, but 12A's don't even have 6ports do they?

Have RX-7, will restore
iTrader: (91)
the air pump supplies fresh air to the main converter to "clean up" the exhaust emissions and to cool the converter to avoid meltdown. it is needed if you have a catylitic converter. removing it really does nothing as far as performance is concerned.
the 12A is a 4 port engine. a 6 port was available in markets outside of the U.S. we'll be looking forward to the pics!

Well, I'm gonna have to gut the cat anyways (its clogged apparently), so I figure airpump removal will be nothing more than weight and parasitic drag loss, lol!
Thanks for the info, and I'll try to get pics tomorrow (probably put them up monday, as I'm pretty well convinced the Super Bowl party is gonna have me "not roadworthy")

The interior is actually in damn good shape. No cracks in any plastic, no tears in the seats, floormats are in good shape. Exterior wise, it has a few rust spots (mainly around the hatch, hence the gorilla tape, lol), but I think I may be able to fix it. If I get in over my head, I know plenty of people who are good at body work who would be willing to lend a hand.
I need to do something about the clogged cat. I think I'm gonna pull it off one of these days (soon) and hollow it out. Plus I need to source a dual belt alt pulley so I can ditch the airpump.
