Check out the pics, lemme know what you guys think. It was reaal close. Maybe 1/4-1/8" to the water pump pulley..
I got the alt relocation kit too. Looks good, huh?

Not too shabby. What kind of fan, and does it cover any of the oil cooler?

Nice.... I also dig your EFI setup. What standalone are you running and if that's a 13B, is it an FC 13B or GSL-SE?

Thanks!
It's a 12a. :P I am using Megasquirt v2.2. Actually, even the older 2.2 version comes with some awesome features now, including a 12x12 fuel/map table and spark control, but I use fuel only. The new version of megatune is really cool, too.
I am using it to control the E-fan as well, though at the moment, the control circuit is acting flaky.
The fan is from an early 90s Ford Taurus SHO, got it for $10. It works pretty well so far, though I haven't tested it in traffic, but hot weather idle is okay. It is also very quiet compared to stock. It covers half the oil cooler if I remember correct. My oil cooler is custom mounted since I converted from watercooled, so I dunno if it would fit the same in stock order.
I turned it on its side to mount it. If you got the water oil cooler and longer radiator, it will fit much better, I think. I had to really secure it with wire ties to keep it from coming back and hitting the water pump pulley.. I hope I don't have to take it out anytime soon. heh

looks decent, I like the looks of the alternator relocation, how do you like the alternator relocation kit? I sure hope pineapple starts selling the kits on there site, I missed the GB...

As far as the e-fan goes it looks pretty decent but it would be nice if the shroud would cover more of the rad surface. Did you notice a small performance gain when you changed the fan? I think some of the other's were using fans from the earlier models of taurus's, maybe they cover more of the radiator?

I know the guy here who perfected the trailing code. I can get you diagrams and a bill of materials if you'd like to swap over Leading AND trailing spark control... Uses an FC CAS in place of the distributor and the FC leading and trailing coils and ignitors.

Yeah, I wish it covered more, too. I don't remember seeing other people's efan conversions, but I suspect they had the taller rad. This model efan would almost fit and cover the rad, but the hoses get in the way on the short rad. It wouldn't cover much if any, of the oil cooler on the taller rad.
I like the alt relocation kit, though the tensioner is a little difficult to get at on mine. It needs short spacers on the hex head bolts. The alternator also becomes more difficult to get at, but it's not bad. It's an easy mod.
Honestly, I didn't notice much of a performance gain, but I haven't gotten on it much. I definitely like it better, though. Quieter and more efficient, I have greater control over engine temperature now. I just set what temp I want in the ECU. The fan puts out some CFM. Not as much as stock it seems like, but this efan works better than my old fan. I'm happy with it.

Uses MSnS Extra code... I think you rewire your lights on the megasquirt to be outputs. One is leading spark. One is trailing spark, and one is a coil select bit, for Trailing1 and Trailing2...

The rest is a small board with two LM1815 (Variable Reluctor Sensor Conditioner/Amplifier) chips...

I'll get you the rest of the info as soon as I can.

Not to hijack the thread but what exactly are the differences between the MS versions... I was going to go MSII but after talking to renns I'm leaning towards the origional only there are three revisions. I plan on running the MSnSextra code.

Based on some things I've read on the forums, the upgraded MSnS-E code is easily as good as the MSII.. I am not 100% sure on the differences, but I imagine they are very similar.
I think waiting for the next v3.0 board would be worth it, though I personally don't need all the extra features that come with. I hear tell it has built in WB o2 support which is very tempting, however.
For ignition I use GSL-SE Addict's circuit and FC coils/plugs. Simple and very effective. So, even though I CAN go with MS ignition control, I'll stick with this setup for awhile, it works very well.

what is that big fat gauge wire to in front of the direct fire on your strut and where is it going to. and btw do u think it would be cleaner like the 20bs to put the ignition on top just above the sparkplug. the new set up that is that u have

you should trim the plastic shround IF you want to be able to move it away from the water pump. and since, its a tall radiator, bring it as close to the fins as possible for better cooling.

I attached few pix to help ya. btw, this is on a fiero fan.
tall radiator

Nice.. I thought about trimming it up, but I am kinda lazy about that type stuff and it never turns out like I want. Plus, it seems to fit like it is, though it is almost too close for comfort. It's seriously less than 1/4" away from the pulley. I got it pretty secure and it is not coming back into the pulley on acceleration.
Looks like the fiero fan is bigger in diameter than the taurus fan, (3-4 inches maybe?) even the taurus SHO fan that I got. The shroud itself is pretty deep with this fan, so it doesn't help the depth a lot to cut it, but it could move the motor away from the pulley into a better position.
I'm curious to see how the fan will stack up under some hot idling conditions in traffic. We shall see..

One of the bigger wires goes to the ignition, one goes the the relay for the efan. Another goes to the alternator.. I dunno which one you're talking exactly.
I am not big on asthetics, so I like where mine is, there was already a hole on the firewall I just used a new bolt and put a ground strap on it. Coil fires like crazy. Dunno about on top of the engine, it might be cool.. I like it like this, though.
