never seen an ignition setup mounted on the right strut tower. that's a new and creative idea.

Its not so much that it adds power, all it does is it gives you a better spark which ignites gas more efficently and less effortlesly, therefore, your car (as this has been my experience) will idle a lot smoother, and as you get on it you should notice less stutter for the secondaries and a bit less effort for the car to get up to speed.

The power increase will come when you upgrade your fuel intake and exhaust. Since now you have more burning power you can add more fuel and as long as you have breathing room in your exhaust you will go faster......if you have done this and still no power.. Youre doing it wrong.

Couldnt find the dyno video but TG Ferrell sa is a great example. He upgraded to a re header, dellorto side draft and upgraded ignition stock engine dynoed if i remember correctly about 139hp

Yeah I have a header lined up but I can't afford a intake/carb now. I'll have to gin out what jets to run in my nikki. My buddy has a actual 6a box I'm gonna try today just to see if it does make a differance.

And as far as the location of the coils lol. Those super coils are so big it's the only place I could find to mount them! I think I need to fan up a couple heat shields for the coils and mad box.

Black Death
ran my direct fire ignition with a msd 6400 and two accel super coils and all new accel 8.8 wires. I read to use the 6a but my buddy had the 6400 laying around so I ran that. I've been reading an says the 6400 is a 4/6 cylinder boxes and they have a weak spark after 3000 rpm and only fire for 10 degrees of crank rotation where the others fire 30 degrees and have a high spark all the way threw the power band.
I'm thinking I need to run a different box because it runs good and all but seems to pull harder in the lower rpms than the high r's. And in a rotary powered car seems wrong. Just don't seam to pull in high rpms.
Also read with the bigger ignition I should gap my plugs much more.

Where I live, we have to do emissions but vehicles 25 years and older are emissions-exempt. I sold mine when they were like 18 years old because it was a pain in the butt to run them and get tabs every year.

My '85 qualifies for collector plates in a couple years, I'll probably do that.
