got another dellorto question...

ok im setting up the following to go in my 85:
second gen rotors and rotor housings
second gen TII end and intermediate housings, bridge ported
im gonna stick a sidedraft dellorto on it.
the dellorto i got came with the RB upper manifold and a 6 port GSLSE lower manifold.
My problem is that, since i went 4 port, the upper RB mani bolts dont line up to a lower TII mani.
I wanted to know if anyone knew if:
1) theres an adapter for the manifolds
2) the 2nd gen upper RB mani will bolt into the TII lower mani
3) will a mani made for old 13B 4 ports will fit the TII housings
4) if the 6 port mani to 4 port engine adapter(mazdacomp, i believe) is any good
5) does anyone know of manifolds made for TII apps
6) did i just waste my time.

Thanks to all in advance

no idea as to the qulity, but how could a chunk of metal be bad!

Aftermarket?? No

That depends on how much your time is worth to you

Have you built this motor yet? Do you have all of the peices?? Why don't you use the '74 side plates GSL-SE rotor housings, high comp rotors from the '89-'91 and port that?

wow, thanks.
i would have used the older 13B parts but i had 2 sec gen engines laying around and i destroyed my rear housing and rotor(GSLSE).
and i believe i have all the parts. the manifold is the only thing im waiting on.
thanks again.

What about doing a high compresion turbo motor?? If you still have the manifolds for the turbo motor, why not?

You won't be taking advantage of the bridgeport (or even streetport) with any u-shaped intake manifold. They're a very restrictive design at high rpm. You need to find/make a straight Lake Cities style manifold if you want to make good power at the top end of the revs like a streetport or bridgeport does.

The story goes that RB tried to set up an RB Dell kit for streetport 12A's and 13B's.... but never succeeded in making the power they wanted to and didn't release any kits. One viewpoint is that the Dell isn't the problem, it's the RB manifold design that is the big restriction.

Brad Page (DriveFast7) knows more about this.

What SilverRocket said. My LakeCities manifold allows the motor to rev up MUCH faster than the RB 2-piece sharply bent manifold.
