Holley 750

Does a 750 Holley fit straight on to a 1985 12A manifold?
If not what do I need to make it fit?
Before I get flamed I have a 750 sitting in my garage shelf so that is why I want to use it.

Thanks

Jorge

Um, no...

It will not fit.. Racing beat does sell a holley manifold but a 750 is WAY WAY too big for a stock port 12A..

Atkins makes a special adapter that fits between a big holley and a 12a - they call it a "supercharger" whatever that is.

Ya, you would say hello to boggsville. I have a 570(I know a wee bit undercarbed) on my 306...... so......... unless you got some heavy mods don't do it.

I do not have any mods. The street car I just bought has a bad carb and I just happen to have a 750 doing nothing in my garage.

a friend of mine is running a 650 double pumper on a 6 port 13b, and it's even too big, so I'm thinkin a 750 on a 12a ain't gonna be pretty...

But man, you could get some huge flames out the back

Other than BIG FLAMES, which might not be too bad. What can I expect if I do use the 750? Would the engine not drive properly?

Thanks again for the responses

No, the engine will not work well.. Find a much smaller carb, or sell it and pick up a used stock carb..

No, it would drive properly just as long as you never floored it. To use all of the air that a 750 would be able to pass you would have to have the engine up in stratosphere or the rpm band. Like almost 12,000.

To any one looking at a Holley,

Look at Racing Beats set ups. They have put a TON of R&D into those kits, and they kick @ss. Well worth the money, and they are much more "driveable" than a two barrel. And your options for modifications are much more open also. You want to put a Nitrous Oxide system on, every company and their brothers make a plate system for a Holley. Bolt one on to a Camden supercharger (if you dare), and then the ultimate, blow through turbocharger/supercharger.

I have a blow through (turbo) Mikuni side draft, and in hind site I should have done a blow through Holley.

There, my $.02, good luck

Ryan

Well not really. It's more the fact that the 12A would be unable to draw enough air through the venturis to provide a good vacuum signal resulting in poor fuel metering.
